Comics

Excuse me? Comics? You're off your rocker!

This page serves to archive all of the 'Shabble's Strips' comics that have been posted on the Shabble Dabble channel over the years. Now you can enjoy all of them together at their highest quality! Isn't that nice? There's also some new commentary on each of them, providing some more context and fun trivia.

Now, what are the comics themselves actually like? Well, they're basically just Garfield comics. Most of them are three panels long with some sort of """funny""" punchline at the end. Whether or not you think they're funny is up to you, of course. Me personally, I just think they look nice, and it's cool to see the slight evolution of my art quality as they go on. Enjoy!

Popeppi stomping on a Swinging Door Lock... a bit rude, no?

Shabble's Strips #1

A Shabble-ified version of that classic Garfield comic strip where Garfield smokes a pipe, only this time it's Prime eating a remote. I guess machines find them tasty? Also, and this applies to the next few comics as well, but this was before Popeppi and Prodo got their accessories. Also Beans is there

Shabble's Strips #2

This is what the average TikTok user would call a 'vent post'. Remember the V0.10 pre-release? If you recall, I wasn't particularly fond of that pre-release back when it came out. Wow, it's almost like the whole point of a pre-release is to gather feedback before the full release or something! So yeah, this comic was just me venting about how V0.10 was gonna be the end of the universe. Grow up.

Shabble's Strips #3

This one isn't quite as emotionally charged as the last one. It was simply made to let people know that V0.10 released. Also, Prime is a complete sweetie-pie cutie-patootie cinnamon roll, so the last panel is a bit of an empty threat.

Shabble's Strips #4

A classic example of me giving Swinging Door Lock way more flak than it really deserves. Sure, the Principal Whistle can be used to bring him to you and get him to lock you in his office, but that's a lot more involved than just... using a Swinging Door Lock on a swinger? I think the joke would've been a lot better if the phrasing was "best item for locked doors" instead. In that case, you could factor in the Whistle's ability to get the Principal to open doors locked by Chalkles and Mrs. Pomp, which is arguably more useful than the Swinging Door Lock. Missed potential aside, giving the two of them expressions was a very funny idea. Bravo Shabble!

Shabble's Strips #5

So far, this is the only comic not to follow the typical 3-panel format. It's also the first comic to include Popeppi's bow tie, and Prodo probably would've had his headphones if he wasn't in hospital. This comic is very obviously a Loss reference, though outside of that, this is probably the worst one. For some reason, the colours used are way off compared to literally every other comic before and after it. The backgrounds have colour, unlike most of the other comics, Popeppi is blindingly pink, and Prodo? That's not even Prodo anymore, man. I guess he must've been really sick... The joke also sucks. Once again, it's a jab at the Swinging Door Lock, but it's so long-winded and poorly worded that it doesn't even register as a joke once you get to the """punchline""". Maybe try a different joke next time?

Shabble's Strips #6

Well, I don't think this one even counts as a joke, but it's better than trying and failing to make one, I guess? This one was made shortly after a Basically Games Podcast episode where Micah McGonigal mentioned he was considering removing Safety Scissors and Principal Whistle. I still don't really get why this even a consideration, to be honest. They may not be all that outstanding, but they still have their uses, and you need weaker items to make the stronger ones feel special! Also, unless he got them mixed up, HOW was Principal's Keys not considered for removal? They're pretty much just a worse version of the Whistle outside of their ability to be used on the Principal's Office, and even then, there's still tons of other items that can save you if you get sent there! The Keys are probably the worst and most boring item in the game, whereas the Whistle has tons of fun and quirky uses that no other item can replicate! Genuinely, WHAT was he cooking?

Shabble's Strips #6 Alt

A variant of Shabble's Strips #6 posted after an episode of the Basically Games Podcast in which Micah McGonigal read a question that mentioned the Big Ol' Boots poster. After reading it, he said that he should probably get around to changing it. The poster still hasn't been replaced at the time of me writing this. Let's move on to the next one already.

Shabble's Strips #7

This comic was made shortly after the release of Popeppenheimer 3, a video that is exactly 14 hours, 22 minutes and 22 seconds long, hence the timestamp on Prodo's monitor. While I wouldn't say that video was quite as exhausting to make as this comic makes it out to be, but I suppose it's funnier to think of it this way. This is also the first appearance of Prodo's headphones and Effaced in the comics.

Shabble's Strips #8

This is the first comic to feature Dopeppel. Hooray! Dopeppel is! The goat! This is definitely one of my favourites so far. The joke is quick and punchy, the art is pretty good, and it has Dopeppel in it! Oh, right, I already mentioned that. Here's to 1000 more Dopeppel comics!

Shabble's Strips #9

I made this comic shortly after the change to the Baldi's Basics GameBanana that made it so fangames would no longer be supported. The stuff that got counted as 'fangames' only made up a small percentage of what got uploaded there, so it really wasn't that big a deal. Of course, SOME people in the community misunderstood this and thought that literally everything that was ever uploaded to the Baldi GameBanana was in jeopardy. This is why I stay as far away from the modding community as possible...

Shabble's Strips #10

This one was made shortly after the reveal of the greatest video game ever made, Kirby and the World Beyond, in the 9/9/26 Nintendo Direct. I never doubted it for a second! Not at all! I've not got anything fun to share about this one. What you see is what you get!
